Virginia State Police were called to investigate a single vehicle accident which resulted in a fatality in Accomack.
The accident occurred on May 25 at approximately 5:46 p.m., on Belinda Road, south of Marsh Market Road, in Temperanceville.
A 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Christopher M. Hernandez, was traveling westbound on Belinda Road when he ran off the road, causing the vehicle to overturn and ejecting the passenger, Joseph Robert Kent.
Kent was not wearing his safety belt and died at the scene. Hernandez suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was charged with reckless driving.
Alcohol did not play a factor in the accident.
Notifications were made to family members of the deceased.
