Boston,MA : Woman dragged after car crash, police say on February, Friday 23th 2018
State police are investigating after they say a Cambridge woman was dragged about a quarter-mile after confronting a motorist she got in a collision with.
Troopers responding to a reported motor vehicle accident on Boston Avenue in Somerville about 8 p.m. Friday said a preliminary investigation found the 23-year-old woman, who was driving a 2011 Honda Civic, got out of her car to talk with a 35-year-old Malden man in a 2010 Jeep Patriot when he suddenly stepped on the gas.
State police say the man, whose name was not released, took off with the woman attached to his vehicle and she ended up being “dragged approximately 1/4 of a mile before she broke free ... in the area of the Whole Foods market on Route 16 in Medford.”
The woman, whose name wasn’t released, was taken to Boston Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.
State police say the driver of the Jeep later walked into the Medford barracks to speak with investigators.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation and no criminal charges were announced last night.
