Concord, NC : Seizure leads to single-car crash on Tuesday, April 4th 2017
A medical condition caused a Concord woman to wreck while driving in Mt. Pleasant earlier this week.
The woman had a seizure while driving on Franklin Street at about 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 4. She became disoriented and crashed into a well house, according to a report. The car overturned and fell into a concrete ditch.
“She had a medical seizure and ran off the side of the road and ran into the ditch,” Sheriff Brad Riley said.
The fire department used heavy rescue tools to cut the driver out of the car, according to a report. Riley said she was transported to the hospital but most of the injuries came from the medical incident, not the wreck itself.
“Her injuries from the crash didn’t seem that bad,” he said. “Most of hers were related to the seizure.”
