Two people died in a rollover crash early Saturday on the Alligator Alley section of Interstate 75 in Collier County.
Patricia Trody, 65, of Lauderhill, died at Lee Memorial Hospital, and Sandra Long, 44, of Miami, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:30 a.m. crash on westbound I-75 near mile marker 98, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The driver of the 2003 Crown Victoria, Patrick Simmons, 46, of Lauderhill, was in critical condition Saturday at Lee Memorial; passenger Joseph Graham, 35, of Miami, was in serious condition at NCH Downtown hospital, and another passenger, Ta'shi Scott, 13, of Lauderhill, was in serious condition at Miami Children's Hospital.
Troopers reported that the car was traveling in the westbound inside lane when it drifted to the left and into the median.
The driver steered to the right and lost control of the car, which struck the fence warning cables and a tree and then overturned, ejecting two back seat passengers, troopers reported.
