Madison, IN : Driver crashes during police pursuit on south State Road 7 in Madison on Thursday, 30th April, 2020

Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jeremiah Luellen, 45, Dupont, for resisting law enforcement and invasion of privacy after police chased him from Dupont to Lanier Drive near the Business and Industrial Federal Credit Union Saturday evening.


Chief Deputy Josh Taylor said officers were responding to a complaint that Luellen had allegedly invaded someone’s privacy through text messages when they spotted him in the Dupont area at around 8:30 p.m. Luellen took off in his vehicle and led police on a chase that finally ended when he crashed on south State Road 7 in Madison.

The City of Madison Police Department assisted in ending the chase by deploying a tire puncture device at around Duffy Avenue, said Chief John Wallace. Shortly after, Luellen lost control of his car and crashed into a ravine along Lanier Drive near Rabbit Lane and Wells Drive, Wallace said.
