Rochester, N.H : Maine man crashes into utility pole while driving drunk on Pickering Road on Wednesday evening, Nov 18, 2015

A Maine man crashed his car into a utility pole in Rochester while driving drunk, according to authorities.

Police said a gold Buick LeSabre, driven by Rene Drapeau, 48, of Lebanon, Maine, was traveling north on Pickering Road on Wednesday evening when it left the roadway and struck the pole.

The impact caused the pole to crack, and crews were forced to close a portion of the road while repairs were made.

Drapeau was charged with driving while intoxicated.
