Riviera Beach, FL : Driver dies following rollover wreck on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard early Friday, May 20, 2016
The driver of a vehicle that rolled over on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard before dawn Friday died later in the day at St. Mary’s Medical Center, city police said.
Police did not release the driver’s name.
The crash happened near Garden Road, an industrial area just east of Interstate 95, at about 4 a.m. The white, four-door sedan sustained significant front-end damage and a blown-out back window.
“The car was on top of the patient, so we had to use several techniques, deploying the airbags to lift the car off the patient so he could be transported,” Dawayne Watson, Riviera Beach Fire Rescue spokesman, told WPTV NewsChannel 5, The Post’s broadcast partner.
The driver was taken to St. Mary’s in West Palm Beach and died there, city police said.
The wreck blocked westbound Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from Garden Road to Military Trail for several hours.
