GRAND HAVEN TWP, MI : Grand Haven woman injured in three-car crash on U.S. 31 on Thursday, 13th October 2016
A 28-year-old woman was injured in a three-car crash that occurred late Thursday afternoon on southbound U.S. 31 in Grand Haven Township.Police said Jasmine Robertson of Grand Haven was driving south on U.S. 31 at 5:41 p.m. when she was unable to stop in time to avoid smashing into a car in front of hers that was stopped for a red traffic signal, just north of Comstock Street.
Robertson’s car crashed into the back of a car driven by John Lund, 50, also of Grand Haven. The impact forced Lund’s car into the back end of the car in front of his — a 2016 Hyundai driven by Alan Phillips, 70, of Nunica — that was also stopped for the light.
Robertson suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital, said Sgt. Matt Wildfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. She was listed in stable condition as of Thursday night.
Philipps and Lund were not injured. All three were wearing their seat belts, Wildfong said.
Robertson was cited for being unable to stop in an assured clear distance.
