Bristol, TN : Driver killed in crash in Bristol on Friday, 20th July 2018

At about 7:10 p.m., police said the vehicle rounded a corner near Deangelo Drive, skidded out of control across the center line, and hit a GMC Yukon coming in the other direction.

Officers said they arrived and found one driver deceased. The other was taken to Spear Memorial Hospital in Plymouth.

The initial investigation indicates speed and reckless operation as contributing factors in the crash. Police said they are still investigating whether impairment was a factor as well.

The name of the driver who died was not released, while next of kin was notified.

Lake Street was closed for about two and a half hours during the investigation.
