Sun City, AZ : Golf cart driver killed in Sun City collision near 99th Avenue and Thunderbird Road on Tuesday afternoon, September 9, 2014

The driver of a golf cart was killed in a collision with an SUV in Sun City on Tuesday afternoon. The driver, identified as 89-year-old John Armstrong, of Sun City, was ejected from the golf cart just before noon near 99th Avenue and Thunderbird Road. He was rushed in critical condition to a hospital and later died, a Sun City Fire Department spokesman said. The driver of the SUV, M.S. Berg, of Aspen, AZ, was treated at the scene for minor injuries, the spokesman said. Westbound Thunderbird Road was closed at 99th Avenue and there were restrictions in the eastbound lanes from 99th to 103rd Avenue. The Maricopa County Department of Transportation and Maricopa County Sheriff's Office were managing traffic in the area. Source : Sun City collision kills golf-car driver
