UNION COUNTY, IL : I-57 Southbound Lanes Back Open in Union County After Crash, One Hospitalized on Friday, 13th September 2024

ZThe southbound lanes of I-57 are back open.

The Illinois State Police (ISP) tells News 3 the crash happened north of the rest area on I-57 near the 32 mile marker at 10:19 a.m.

ISP states a preliminary investigation suggests the semi-truck with trailer ran off the roadway and came to a stop in the tree line.

Traffic was stopped at the time when crews removed the truck.

ISP stated the driver of the semi-truck was taken to a local hospital.
