Southbury, CT : 2 Massachusetts men killed in fiery Southbury crash on Friday, November 25, 2016

Connecticut State Police say two Massachusetts men died after their car crashed into a tree and caught fire in Southbury.

Police received 911 calls at approximately 9:45 a.m. Friday reporting a one-car crash on Interstate 84 westbound. According to the police report, the Subaru Legacy left the roadway at exit 14, striking a tree.
Police told WTIC-TV the car was on fire and two people were trapped inside.

The driver, 69-year-old Warren J. Rynkar, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, 26-year-old John Thomas Rynkar, was taken to Waterbury Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police report lists Rynkar as being a resident of Malden, Massachusetts. No address was listed for the driver.

The off-ramp was closed for about four hours.
