Olympia,WA : Man injured in crash near Tumwater Falls Park on June, Friday 2nd 2017
A man suffered a medical emergency just before he crashed an SUV into a car and headed down an embankment off Deschutes Parkway near Tumwater Falls Park on Friday, Tumwater Fire Department assistant chief Jim McGarva said.
The man, whose age and name weren’t released, was briefly trapped in the SUV. Fire crews helped him climb out the vehicle’s sunroof.
The man was transported by fire department medics to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia with “non-life threatening injuries,” McGarva said.
The other driver was evaluated by medics, but wasn’t taken to the hospital.
The crash was reported at 10:13 a.m.
“He came out of nowhere,” witness Renee Harland told The Olympian. “I’d guess 50 miles per hour.”
A dog that was in the SUV was taken to Thurston County Animal Services, McGarva said.
