Greeley, CO : 29-year-old Greeley man dead after fiery crash near Colo. 392 and Weld County Road 31 on Sunday, 26th January, 2020

A 29-year-old Greeley man died this weekend after crashing north of Greeley.

Police responded 10:34 p.m. Saturday to the single-vehicle crash near Colo. 392 and Weld County Road 31, according to Colorado State Patrol spokesman Trooper Josh Lewis.

Police believe the driver of a 2016 Jeep SUV was driving eastbound on Colo. 392, when he went off the left side of the roadway and hit a private driveway before overturning. The SUV hit a tree, a power pole, a gas meter and two fences in the rollover. Lewis said the vehicle was engulfed in flames, which were extinguished.The man was declared dead on scene. The Weld County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified him. No one else was inside the vehicle, according to police.

It is unknown whether the man was wearing a seat belt. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol, but believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.
