Anchorage, AK : No injuries reported after school bus involved in multi-vehicle collision in Palmer Tuesday afternoon, Aug 18, 2015

No injuries were reported after a school bus carrying 40 children collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck in Palmer Tuesday afternoon, Alaska State Troopers said in a dispatch.

The collision occurred when the school bus failed to yield to an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection of Bogard Road and Stringfield Road.

"The Silverado collided with the school bus near the entrance door," Troopers wrote. "After the bus was struck it collided with a Department of Transportation light duty truck stopped at the intersection."

The collision caused heavy damage to both the school bus and the Chevrolet, both of which had to be towed away from the scene. The D.O.T. truck was driven away with minor damage, Troopers reported.

The school bus driver, 57 year-old Robert Ferguson of Wasilla, was issued a citation for failing to yield, authorities said.
