A 66-year-old Bridgeport resident was struck and killed in a hit-and-run incident Friday night, police said.
Nathaniel Dubose was walking near the 600 block on Sylvan Avenue at around 8:10 p.m. when he was hit by a gray or silver car traveling south, police spokesman Av Harris said. The driver of the vehicle fled and was still at large on Saturday, Harris said.
When police arrived, they found Dubose suffering from severe head trauma, Harris said. Dubose was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he later died. The death was Bridgeport’s 10th traffic-related fatality of 2017, Harris said.
As police investigated the incident, officers blocked off the section of Sylvan Avenue between Wilkins Avenue and Seltsam Road.
