PIMA, AZ : Motorcyclist airlifted to UMC after highway crash on April, Saturday 15th 2017
A motorcyclist was airlifted to the University Medical Center in Tucson early Saturday afternoon after being involved in a single-vehicle accident.
Officers responded to the accident on U.S. Highway 70, between Pima and Fort Thomas, shortly after noon. The road was closed for less than half an hour.
A Department of Public Safety officer on scene told the Courier that multiple motorcycles were riding on the road when one crashed. The unidentified person driving the motorcycle was airlifted by helicopter to UMC for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
A passenger was taken via ambulance to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center for undisclosed injuries as well.
The DPS officer said alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision and the incident remains under investigation.
Pima Police Department assisted DPS in the investigation.
