Weirsdale, FL : Rhiannon Y. Cederholm, 37, died when pickup truck crashed on County Road 42 in Weirsdale on Thursday morning, May 7, 2015

A Umatilla woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on County Road 42 at Southeast 155th Avenue early Thursday morning.

Rhiannon Y. Cederholm, 37, was pronounced dead by a Marion County Fire Rescue official at 12:56 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP troopers on scene said witnesses told them the older model pickup truck was speeding east on CR 42 when the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand turn.

The vehicle then ran off the road and slammed into a guardrail. The right side of the pickup then struck a large tree, and the vehicle came to a stop, officials said. The passenger's side of the vehicle was caved into the driver's side.

Troopers said the victim was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.

Traffic was blocked as troopers investigated the accident.

The fatality was the 21st traffic death in Marion County so far this year.
