Phoenix, AZ : Motorcycle, police car crash shuts down Northern Ave. in Phoenix on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016

A crash involving a motorcycle and a Phoenix police cruiser shut down Northern Avenue near 27th Avenue Wednesday morning.

The motorcycle operator, a man in his 30s, was transported to a hospital in critical condition, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

No injuries were reported by any officer, according to Sgt. Vince Lewis, Phoenix police spokesman.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area during the morning rush.
