MOREAU, NY : Two die in motorcycle accident on Tuesday, August 15, 2017

According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, a 63-year-old male and a 16-year-old male died Tuesday on New York State Route 32 north of Mott Road after the 63-year-old man’s motorcycle struck one of three bicyclists who had been traveling on the shoulder of the roadway.

James A. Mercurio, of Hudson Falls, struck the 16-year-old male, from Gansevoort, whose name is currently being withheld until the family is notified. He was flown by helicopter to Albany Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead as result of injuries. Mercurio was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and is being handled by the Sheriff’s Collision Reconstruction Unit. Mercurio was operating a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle.
