One person was killed when a tractor-trailer hit a 2005 Pontiac G6 at 2:58 a.m. Thursday on Interstate 476 North, between mileposts 80.5 and 80.6, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.
The victim was the passenger in the Pontiac, which was already disabled from a previous crash when hit by the tractor-trailer.
The Turnpike’s Northeast Extension, between the Mahoning Valley and Pocono interchanges, was closed for more than three hours. Traffic in the area was affected.
