Sequim, WA : 79-year-old Edward F. Calvin died in Highway 101 crash at Blyn on Friday afternoon, June 10, 2016
A multiple vehicle crash Friday claimed the life of a Sequim man on Highway 101 at Blyn.
The Washington State Patrol says 79-year-old Edward F. Calvin died at the scene of the collision involving 4 vehicles.
The crash happened at 2:45 Friday afternoon at milepost 271, east of the Longhouse Market and Deli.
Authorities say 61-year-old Andrew H. Stockton of Daly City, California was taken to Olympic Medical Center.
Reports say Calvin was eastbound when his Toyota pickup crossed the centerline and hit a westbound van driven by Stockton.
Calvin's pickup spun into the westbound lane and was struck by a 2011 Peterbilt semi driven by 38-year-old Allen R. Ludlow of Camas.
The collision pushed Calvin's pickup into the eastbound lane, where it was hit by a Honda four-door driven by 53-year-old Susan M. Turpen of Bainbridge Island.
Troopers say Calvin's pickup caught fire and came to rest in the eastbound ditch.
Turpen's car came to rest against the pickup and also caught burned.
Stockton's van and the semi-truck came to rest in the westbound ditch.
Authorities say Ludlow and Turpen were not hurt.
Additionally, Stockton's passenger, 53-year-old Sarah E. Stockton of Daly City, and Turpen's passenger, 51-year-old Rosemarie I. Torres of Suquamish, were not injured.
Troopers says the highway was fully or partially blocked for 4-and-a-half hours after the crash.
