Tallahassee, FL : 2-car crash on I-4 blocks traffic on Thursday, 12th December, 2019
A fiery two-vehicle crash on I-4 between Memorial Boulevard and Kathleen Road shut down westbound traffic on the interstate for a couple of hours Thursday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
According to FHP spokesperson Steve Gaskins, a 2006 Chrysler Sebring was traveling west behind a 2015 freight truck in the center lane on I-4. When the truck braked for traffic, the Chrysler struck the rear end.
The Chrysler caught fire and came to a stop in the same lane. All occupants of the Chrysler exited the vehicle before it became fully engulfed.
The FHP says there were no independent witnesses identified during the crash investigation, and the Chrysler driver was issued a citation for careless driving.
