TOPSFIELD, MA : Authorities ID victim in Topsfield accident on Monday, 16th December, 2019
Authorities have identified the 72-year-old Topsfield woman who died Monday morning, following an accident at her home, as Jane Driscoll.
Driscoll died at Massachusetts General Hospital as a result of injuries sustained when she exited her car in her garage Monday morning, said Carrie Kimball, a spokeswoman for the Essex District Attorney's office, in a statement.
"It is believed that the vehicle was not in park when she exited causing the accident," Kimball said.
Topsfield police and firefighters were initially called to a home on Andrews Road just before 8:30 a.m. on a medical aid call for a person wedged between a vehicle and a building.
Topsfield officials had said they believed the car wasn't in park when Driscoll exited the vehicle, which then began to roll backwards, trapping her against the side of the garage.
