MILWAUKEE,WI : 2 people killed in fatal hit-and-run on Sunday, 5th May 2024

Two people were hit and killed in a fatal hit-and-run Sunday morning near Lincoln Avenue and 19th Street.

It’s the second fatal hit-and-run in Milwaukee in less than a week.

A family friend identified the two pedestrians as brothers; 39-year-old Maycol Gutiérrez and 41-year-old Ausberto Gutiérrez.

According to Milwaukee Police, the brothers were standing near the driver's side of a parked car when they were struck by a white SUV traveling eastbound on Lincoln Ave.

The vehicle also hit the occupied, parked car. Both pedestrians died. Police said it happened around 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning.

The white SUV then fled the scene. That SUV was recovered around 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening near 54th and Arthur, just about 15 blocks from where the crashed happened in the morning. A person has also been arrested.
