Oakland County, MI : 34-year-old woman, 26-year-old man dead in wrong-way crash on I-75 in Troy on Sunday, 26th January, 2020

Troy police have released additional details about an early morning wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 in Oakland County that left two dead early Sunday morning.

The crash took place at around 4:17 a.m. on southbound I-75. A 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-75 and collided with a 2019 Dodge Challenger between 14 Mile and Maple, Troy police said.

The driver of the Malibu has been identified as a 34-year-old woman from Detroit, Troy police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The Challenger driver has been identified as a 26-year-old man from Troy who was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, according to police. Toxicology reports from the medical examiner’s office aren't expected back for several weeks.
