STATEN ISLAND, NY : 1 person treated on scene after Stapleton crash on Thursday, 25th March 2021

A crash that resulted in two vehicles strewn across a Stapleton lawn Thursday afternoon left one person with injuries, authorities said.

The incident, which occurred in front of 42 Smith Terr. at 4:50 p.m., involved a compact car and a sedan — both of which sustained front-end damage.

One person was injured and treated on scene, according to an official from the FDNY’s press office.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the crash or if there were drivers in both vehicles when the incident occurred.
