Phoenix, AZ : Five people injured after a two-vehicle accident on Route 260 near the intersection of Cherry Creek Road on Friday, November 21, 2014
Just after 4 p.m. Friday, Camp Verde Marshal's deputies were dispatched to a serious two-vehicle accident near the intersection of AZ 260 and Cherry Creek Road.
The accident involved a pickup truck and a mini-van in a head-on collision. When officers arrived, they found a 2010 GMC pickup had collided with a 2007 Chevy mini-van.
The crash site immediately became a multi-agency effort, with assistance from the Camp Verde Fire Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Arizona Department of Transportation, and the Yavapai Apache Tribal Police.
Five of the seven victims involved were air transported to either Flagstaff Medical Center or or John C. Lincoln North in Phoenix. At this time in the investigation, the marshal's office reported, it appears the driver of the 2010 GMC pickup crossed the center line and struck the mini-van head on.
Driver impairment is currently under investigation.
This accident is still under investigation with assistance provided by DPS and ADOT. Further details will be released as they are received form the investigations unit.
Names of the occupants of the two vehicles were not released. There is also no information on condition updates of the people involved in the crash.
