Dane County , WI : 17 - years Old girl killed in One car Crash at 1300 block of Storytown Road in Dane County on Wednesday , February 11th 2015

A 17-year-old Fitchburg girl was killed Wednesday in a one-car crash in Dane County, the sheriff's office said.

The crash was reported shortly after 4 p.m. in the 1300 block of Storytown Road in the Town of Oregon, according to a news release from the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

The girl was driving a 1999 Honda southbound on Storytown Road when the vehicle left the west side of the roadway, went airborne and struck a large tree, according to a news release.

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene and excessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash, according to the release.
