Nodine, MN : Two injured in three-car crash on I-90 in Nodine on Thursday night, January 22, 2015
Two people were injured Thursday night in a three-car crash on Interstate 90.
Emily Nuernberg, 20, of Saukville, Wis., was eastbound on I-90 just after 7 p.m. when she struck a deer and her car became disabled, according to the Minnesota State Patrol incident report.
Nuernberg and her passenger, 21-year-old Breanna Vey, of Grafton, Wis., exited the vehicle as an Altura couple pulled over to the shoulder to offer assistance.
As Neal and Jodi Schilling were attempting to help, a third vehicle, driven Timothy Walters, 30, of Centerville, Minn., struck Nuernberg's disabled vehicle and caused all three vehicles to be pushed into the right ditch of I-90, according to the incident report.
Nuernberg and Jodi Schilling, 46, suffered non-life threatening injuries during the series of crashes. Both were transported to Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis., for treatment.
The Winona County Sheriff's Office, Tri-State Ambulance, Dakota Fire/Rescue, Nodine Fire/Rescue and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
