South Daytona, FL : Police track down hit-and-run driver who crashed into home on early Thursday morning September 18th 2014
Investigators in Volusia County said they have tracked down a hit-and-run driver who crashed into a home early Thursday morning in South Daytona.
It was close call for a teenage girl who was inside the house on Magnolia Avenue at the time of the crash.
Police said just after 1 a.m. Thursday, Zack Judson's car came barreling into the home.
On the other side of the wall, a teen girl was sleeping and the car hit her bed as she slept.
Police said she was not injured.
The girl's mother, Ericka Johnson, said she woke up when she heard the loud crash and was relieved when she found her daughter unharmed in her bedroom.
"All I hear is (my daughter) just saying, 'Mommy, mommy, I don't know what happened and I'm scared.' And, I just, I just said, 'Thank God.' Because, he obviously spared her life," said Johnson.
Police were able to track Judson down at a home in Daytona Beach.
Police said Judson was not arrested, but was given a citation for leaving the scene of a crash with damage.
