Beatrice, NE : Woman died after car crashes into her disabled vehicle on U.S. Highway 136 in Gage County on Sunday morning, Oct 18, 2015

A woman was struck and killed in southeastern Nebraska after a car slammed into her car; disabled and sitting on the side of the road after hitting a deer.
The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 136, east of Beatrice early Sunday morning.
Gage County Attorney and Coroner, Roger Harris, says the disabled car had Colorado plates. The car had hit a deer just prior to the fatal accident.
Harris says it is unlikely the driver of the second car could see the disabled car prior to sunrise on Sunday.
“We’ll do an investigation to make sure there is nothing as far as a criminal element, but at this juncture it doesn’t appear to be,” Harris tells Nebraska Radio Network affiliate KWBE.
There were other injuries in the wreck. No names have been released.
The accident happened about a quarter mile west of a turn-off to the Rockford State Recreation Area.
