Two children, adults, seriously injured in crash

An SUV running a stop sign in the Acreage caused a crash that left left four people, including two children, with serious injuries, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The crash between the SUV and a dump truck at about 10 a.m. near the intersection of Northlake Boulevard and Hall Boulevard.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Eric Davis said the woman driving the SUV was heading north on Hall Boulevard and ran a stop sign, causing the crash.

Fire fighters arrived to find people trapped in their vehicle and used heavy tools to remove them, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman Albert Borroto.

The woman, her two children and the truck driver were rushed to St. Mary's Medical Center by ambulance and helicopter, Borroto said.

A 25 to 30 gallon fuel leak also occurred but has since been contained.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash.
