SARASOTA COUNTY, FL : 2 people dead after serious crash on US Highway 41 in Sarasota County on Sunday, 8th September 2024

Two people were killed after a serious crash between two cars Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 41 near Seminole Drive, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The crash shut down the northbound lanes of U.S. 41 for several hours, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office posted on X.

One car was reportedly traveling north on the outside travel lane of U.S. 41 approaching the intersection of Seminole Drive. Another car was traveling east on Seminole, approaching the intersection of US 41, troopers said.
