South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a Lexington County crash that took the life of four people and sent two people to the hospital.
Deputies say the crash happened just before 6 p.m. on highway 378 near Shore Road.
According to investigators, a pick-up truck crossed over lanes and side-swiped a van headed in the opposite direction. The collision sent the van spinning out of control, causing it to hit a GMC sports utility vehicle.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the three occupants of the Ford SUV as Harry Gunnells, 73, his wife Barbara Gunnells, 74, and their grandson Steven Gunnells, 16, all from Saluda, SC. All three died from injuries they received in the crash.
Fisher also identified Robert Moore, Jr., 62, of Leesville. He was the driver of the pick-up truck.
The other two drivers involved were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
