Van Buren, AR : An Alma man died after his motorcycle hit a car at U.S. Highway 64 on Friday, 2nd September, 2016

An Alma man died Friday night after his motorcycle hit a car that was trying to cross a highway east of Van Buren.

Michael Sims, 32, was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle east on U.S. Highway 64 at 5:17 p.m. when he approached the highway's intersection with Arkansas 60, Arkansas State Police said in a crash report. A northbound

Chevrolet Cruz then tried to cross U.S. 64 without yielding to Sims. State police said the motorcycle hit the car, throwing Sims from the bike.

Police listed conditions as clear and dry when the wreck occurred. Sims' death was the 348th of the year on state roads.
