ST. JAMES PARISH, LA : LA 70 in Ascension Parish closed due to fatal wreck on LA 70 near LA 3125 in St. James Parish on Friday, 5th July 2019

Louisiana State Police closed LA 70 in both directions Friday morning due to a deadly crash. The highway was reopened around 1:30 p.m.
The deadly crash happened on LA 70 near LA 3125 in St. James Parish. According to Louisiana State Police, the collision happened after Daren Taylor, 57, headed eastbound crossed the center line and hit a westbound 18-wheeler. A vehicle traveling behind the 18-wheeler swerved to avoid the wreck and struct a concrete culvert.
Troopers say Taylor was killed. All other parties were properly restrained and sustained minor injuries.
