Salt Lake City, UT : One dead, one seriously injured after car crash in West Valley City on Monday morning, February 9, 2015

A man died in an early Monday morning crash in West Valley City.

West Valley City police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku said the crash occurred about 5:45 a.m. at 4640 W. 3500 South, when a Jeep turned onto 3500 South and was T-boned by a westbound pickup truck.

Police identified the victim as Michael Nielson, 57.

The 54-year-old male driver of the truck suffered numerous broken bones and was in serious condition at the hospital.

No citations were issued as the investigation had just begun.
