Sanford, FL : Man in wheelchair killed after being hit by vehicle in Sanford on Friday, January 23, 2015

A man in a wheelchair was killed in a crash with a vehicle on County Road 46-A on Friday night, police said.

According to the Sanford Police Department, the crash happened in the westbound lane of C.R. 46-A at Lamplighter Way.

Police said the man had life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

It is unclear how the crash happened.
