ALBANY, NY : 19-year-old charged with DWI after fatal Rensselaerville accident on Sunday, 9th June 2019
The Albany County Sheriff's Department says a 19-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Rensselaerville early Sunday, and another 19-year-old woman has been charged with being drunk behind the wheel.
Albany County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to the accident at 2:42 a.m. Deputies said they saw Harley A. Kelly, 19, of Middleburgh was the driver of the vehicle, and she was sitting outside of it.
"A 19-year-old female passenger from Middleburgh was unresponsive and not breathing. Efforts to revive the passenger by Albany County medical personnel were unsuccessful and she was pronounced deceased at the scene," Deputies stated in a news release.
The name of the victim of the car accident is being withheld until next of kin were notified, sheriff's deputies said.
Kelly was evaluated by Albany County Medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with injuries.
