Crashes on slippery Wisconsin roadways Friday killed two people, authorities said.
A motorist killed on an icy bridge in Madison when he was struck by a sliding pickup truck was identified by the Dane County medical examiner's office as Miguel A. Julian, 71, of Sun Prairie.
Julian was checking his SUV for damage after he fishtailed and slid into a concrete barrier shortly before 7 p.m. in the southbound lanes of US Highway 151 on the bridge over American Parkway near Exit 98 AB, according to the medical examiner's office and Madison police.
He was struck by the pickup truck, which had slid on the same patch of ice as the SUV.
A female passenger in the SUV and the driver of the pickup truck were taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, according to police.
A 17-year-old Mosinee girl was killed in what the Wisconsin State Patrol called a weather-related two-vehicle crash on Highway 34 near Knowlton. It happened about 7:30 a.m. Her name was not released.
