Ridgecrest, CA : A Barstow man died from injuries following a single vehicle rollover on Trona Road on February, Monday 12th 2018
A Barstow man died from injuries following a single vehicle rollover on Trona Road Monday morning, according to California Highway Patrol reports.
According to a CHP investigation, Benjamin Alan Jordan, 21, was driving his 2007 Honda Accord northbound on Trona Road, south of Searles Station Road, at a high rate of speed.
“As Mr. Jordan continued north through a left curve in the roadway, he failed to properly negotiate the curve and the right side tires of the Honda traveled onto the dirt shoulder,” the CHP report states. “Mr. Jordan steered the vehicle abruptly to the left and lost control of the Honda. The Honda continued across the west dirt shoulder where it collided with a raised dirt berm and launched into the air. The Honda collided with a rocky slope of a descending hillside and came to rest on its wheels.”
Jordan suffered major blunt force trauma to his body and head. He was flown by Mercy Air to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:13 a.m.
“Mr. Jordan was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and both front and side curtain airbags deployed as a result of this collision,” CHP reports. “Unfortunately due to the extreme rural location of this area there were no known witnesses to this collision.”
The CHP Mojave Area is asking for the publics help in locating any witnesses to this collision. Anyone with information regarding this collision should contact the CHP’s Bishop Dispatch Center (760) 872-5900.
