Lake George, NY : New York city man died in motorcycle crash in the Adirondacks Monday noon on June 23, 2014

State police say a New York City man has been killed in a motorcycle crash in the Adirondacks.

Troopers say 46-year-old Leonid Gorodetsky of Staten Island was driving his Harley-Davidson south on Interstate 87, the Adirondack Northway, around noon Monday when he got off at Exit 22 in the town of Lake George.

Police say relatives were following behind him in another vehicle but didn't get off at the same exit. When Gorodetsky noticed they hadn't exited, he attempted to re-enter the highway and hit the front wheel of a tractor-trailer traveling in the right southbound lane.

Gorodetsky lost control of the bike and was ejected. Troopers say he died in the ambulance taking him to the hospital.

The investigation into the accident is continuing.
