he coroner has released the name of a man who died after crashing his Corvette on Highway 402.
According to Coroner Bill Salisbury, 65-year-old Melvin Glover, Jr. of Moncks Corner was driving down the highway around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday when he lost control turning a corner, ran his Corvette over the left side, crossed over to the right side and hit a tree.
Salisbury said Glover was extricated from the car by the Berkeley County Rescue Squad and was pronounced dead at the scene. Glover was reportedly wearing his seatbelt. The Corvette was destroyed.
Glover's death was ruled accidental by the coroner and the accident was investigated by the coroner's office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
