Tuskegee, AL: I-85 reopens after 2 multi-vehicle crashes in Macon County on Monday, July 20th 2015

All lanes of Interstate 85 reopened Monday night after two separate crashes involving multiple vehicles in Macon County earlier in the afternoon.According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a total of 10 vehicles were involved in the crashes in the area of mile marker 36. That's near the Franklin exit going northbound.Troopers say the first crash involved three vehicles and the second involved seven others, including a commercial vehicle.At least one person was transported via medical helicopter from the scene. The severity of other injuries was not immediately known.Heavy traffic delays were reported in both the north and southbound lanes. Troopers temporarily closed I-85 northbound at mile marker 32 and detoured vehicles onto U.S. Hwy. 80.The cause of the crashes was not immediately known.
