A priest was recently arrested on the suspicion of driving drunk after he crashed into a ditch in Zapata County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Angel Valenciano-Cancino, 38, was arrested May 10 and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. He is out on bond from the Zapata County Regional Jail.
Valenciano-Cancino is assigned as the Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Zapata, according to a statement from the Diocese of Laredo.
