Augustaville, PA : Dornsife man dies in two-car Rockefeller Twp. accident Friday, November 4, 2016
One man is dead and another in serious condition following a two-vehicle crash in Rockefeller Township around 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Mark D. Latsha, 83, of the Dornsife area, was pronounced dead at 3:32 p.m. as a result of multiple blunt force trauma, Northumberland County Coroner James F. Kelley confirmed.
State Police in Stonington reported that Latsha was traveling south on Route 4019, approximately 600 feet of Hallowing Run Road when for unknown reasons, he crossed over the double yellow lines, striking a Ford Escape driven by Judy D. Brocious, 75, of Sunbury. Both vehicles came to a stop in the roadway.
Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles by assisting medical personnel, who included Americus EMS, Stonington Fire and Upper Augusta Township Fire Department.
Latsha was transported to Sunbury Community Hospital, where he was identified. In addition to Kelley, present were Chief Deputy Coroner James Gotlob and Deputy Coroner Gabe DeMarco.
Brocious was transported to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where a nursing supervisor said she is in serious condition on Friday evening.
