Aberdeen, WA : Three men who led police on a car chase on Friday, June 23, 2017
Three men who led police on a car chase that exceeded speeds of 100 mph were arrested Friday morning after they crashed a stolen vehicle at the East Aberdeen Lake Road and US 12 intersection, according to Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Dave Pimentel.
A Fish and Wildlife officer spotted the 2015 Subaru Outback traveling in excess of 100 mph on US 12 westbound near Satsop around 7:45 a.m. That officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle and was soon joined by Sheriff’s deputies. The driver tried to take the East Aberdeen Lake Road exit at a high rate of speed and the vehicle crashed into the brush near the exit.
Three men fled the scene of the crash on foot. Officers found the vehicle had been stolen during a residential burglary in Des Moines. Deputies, State Troopers, Aberdeen Police and Fish and Wildlife personnel were setting up a containment of the area when the three men came out of the brush and surrendered. They were identified by Pimentel as a 21-year old male from Spanaway, A 19-year old male from Enumclaw and a 16-year old male from Covington.
“In the past 48 hours there were two commercial burglaries, one in the city of Aberdeen and the other in Hogan’s Corner,” said Pimentel. “Officers and deputies recognized these three subjects along with the clothing they were wearing to match the subjects involved in the two burglaries.”
The suspects received medical treatment and the two adults were booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail on charges of possession of stolen property and the juvenile was booked into the Grays Harbor County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of possession of stolen property.
“Pending follow-up on the burglaries, we anticipate additional charges for these subjects in the near future,” said Pimentel.
