A Pennsylvania semi driver died early today in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. 20 at Interstate 69 in Angola, Angola police said.

Shawn H. Spencer, 44, of Rome, Pennsylvania, died at the scene of the 6:20 a.m. crash, police said in a statement.

Police said Spencer was driving a semi hauling steel west on U.S. 20 when the truck lost its load, which covered the roadway.

Westbound U.S. 20 was closed to through traffic for about five hours, police said. They said their investigation continues.
