Fatality accident kills 1, injures 2 near Wichitat Texas

A Wichita man was killed Sunday night in a two-car accident on U.S. 166, four miles west of Arkansas City, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol online crash log.
Clessie Cole Jr., 47, was driving a 1998 Toyota four-door passenger car northbound on 11th Road (Cowley 10) and either failed to stop at its intersection with U.S. 166 or pulled out in front of an oncoming vehicle, according to KHP.
The Toyota then was struck in the intersection by a 2003 Oldsmobile four-door passenger car that was eastbound on U.S. 166.
The accident was reported at 9:20 p.m., and Cole died at the scene about 11, according to the report. His remains were taken to Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.
Cole’s passenger, Shunda L. Vinson, 41, of Wichita, was transported to South Central Kansas Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
The driver of the Oldsmobile, Ashley M. Osborne, 25, of Arkansas City, also was transported to SCKMC. She then was taken to Wesley Medical Center, where she was listed in fair condition Monday, according to a hospital official.
All three people involved in the accident were wearing their seat belts.
